Are you hooked on fireworks or not at all?

Some people love the booming blasts, the sparkling colors, the rush of watching the sky explode with light. Others prefer a calm night without the noise, the smoke, or the chaos.
So tell me.. where do YOU stand? When the clock strikes midnight, do you race outside to watch the show? Do you love the fountains, the rockets, the crackling lights? Or do you stay inside with a warm drink, skipping the fireworks completely? Are you a fireworks fan, or could you happily live without them?

I don't care for fireworks, mostly because of how loud they are. If it was just the bright lights, I'd be fine, but the explosions are too much for my ears.

All the fireworks I handle, are those in the bedroom with my bedpartner(s). As much as I love watching them, I will not lite any fireworks.

I would attend some displays in July when I was younger, but never in January. Now I'm happy to watch the display on the TV and the dog is happy that there's a volume control also.

Cancer, diabetes, chemicals food, real pollution from cars, farms etc, wars, petro chemicals, lack of exercise, corruption in politics, starvation, drought, drugs, people constantly on their smart phones, social media, data theft, violent crime, these are problems. Creating drama over a question about fireworks? In comparison, it’s not a problem. It’s a fun simple little question. The fireworks are not out to get you, they are not hunting you down. So while you order your pizza, and wash it down with coke, and sit on your phone all day not exercising, and then get in your car to go buy beer and bourbon, before coming home you pick up a blunt at the local depository, before turning on the news to hear about the starvation, poverty, wars, and then post a selfie of yourself on insta eating pizza #bestlife. Maybe don’t worry about the fireworks you might see once or twice a year.

Oh hooked on them, and didn’t lead to a life of substance abuse at all. Love them, played with them as a kid all the time. Loved them, they are beautiful fun, and one of the least scary or harmful things I can think of. So many drama queen haters acting like fireworks are destroying the world, find something real to complain about.

Not at all. You never forget watching your friends have his hand blown apart when he picked up, what he thought, was a dead firework. Losing 3 of his fingers and thumb, the blood, the mangled remains of what was his dominant hand. Watching the subsequent infection run up his wrist, across his chest leading him to lose his arm was tough for an 8 year old. Visiting him in hospital whilst he was on life support due to the sepsis taking over and systemically shutting down each organ stays with you. Being made to attend his funeral, seeing the tiny coffin with only 4 pall bearers as you and your class mates stand in confused silence stays with you. Seeing the devastation his death caused his parents, years later hearing about the divorce, the substance abuse and subsequent suicide of his father hit hard.

So no, I'm not hooked on fireworks at all.

Not in the least. Even when I was younger I didn't see much point in them. Now I just hate how they affect my pets and spend the whole time during the "display" trying to soothe and comfort my cats. And then there's the aftermath. People aren't responsible in the least so there are often small fires and a LOT of litter on the ground afterwards. Just a lot of noise and mess for a second of pretty lights.

When i was younger, i was one of the first, who went to the stores and bought all possible stuff and fired it up all night long. But now, i just step out on the balcony, watch the fireworks around for a couple moments and get back in. It's nice to watch, especially when it is something professional, but when you see all those idiots doing bullshit and attacking the police or rescue trucks (like Berlin every year), i don't need it.

Absolutely not! It is suffering for animals. There are much more modern technologies like laser show, or drone show less disturbing to animals.

I cannot say i run anytime i know there are fireworks in some place around, but i like to watch them. And sometime, in the past, i went to some place just for them. Yes, i like fireworks. :)
